The project purpose is to replace aquatic habitat lost by construction and operation of the Bank Stabilization and Navigation Project (BSNP); improving aquatic habitat and diversity for pallid sturgeon and other native aquatic species; and maximizing the amount of biologically productive and physically sustainable habitat beneficial to such aquatic species while maintaining a properly functioning navigation channel.
