Information meeting scheduled to discuss boating restrictions change to Lake Yankton
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Gavins Point Project will be holding an information meeting on Wednesday, August 16 to discuss a proposal to change boating restrictions on Lake Yankton from electric motor only to no wake. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, 55424 Highway 121, Crofton, NE.

Invasive Tree Removal to take place below Gavins Point Dam
Beginning Monday Sept. 26 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Gavins Point Project, will conduct noxious tree removal via a licensed contractor around Lake Yankton, located below Gavins Point Dam. Some areas and trails around Lake Yankton may be temporarily closed for visitor safety. The public is asked to obey all signs, avoid closed areas and to keep away from equipment and workers during this time.

Lake Yankton Water Festival set for Saturday, June 20
The Lake Yankton Water Festival is set for Saturday, June 20 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Training Dike Recreation area near Yankton, SD. The event will have games, prizes, crafts, demonstrations, and a paddling clinic.

Lake Yankton facilities closed due to fisheries renovation
Some facilities around Lake Yankton, near Yankton, SD, will be closed on Sept. 9-10 as part of the fisheries renovation. Closures will include all of Cottonwood Day Use area and Training Dike boat ramp. There will also be restrictions on entering the water or shoreline.
