    As the U.S. Air Force celebrates its 78th birthday this year on Sept. 18, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, continues to play a pivotal role in supporting modernization efforts, including expanding facilities at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

    Overcoming challenges to meld history with modernity for the USAFA’s innovation center

    On April 25, 2025, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District leaders attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the U.S. Air Force Academy’s new Madera Cyber Innovation Center. The Omaha District led the military construction effort of this 48,000 square foot facility, which broke ground in 2021.

    Air Force Academy, USACE break ground on new cyber facility

    The Stillman parade field on the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was the site of a groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 6 for the new Madera Cyber Innovation Center. U.S. Air Force Academy Superintendent, U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark hosted the afternoon event before a group of Servicemembers, distinguished guests and civilians.
