Tomoyuki Togo, a representative from the Japan Ministry of Defense who serves as a protective structure research engineer with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, Protective Design – Mandatory Center of Expertise, laughs with fellow colleagues from both agencies during an engineer exchange Nov. 7, 2024, at the Edward Zorinksy Federal Building in Omaha, Nebraska. Five representatives from JMoD traveled to the United States for the engagement. The exchange event included multiple briefings from USACE leaders regarding protective design and other expertise centers located in the Omaha District, as well as presentations by JMoD, and a tour of the building.
