The Omaha District operates six dams and power plants along the Missouri River. Recently the crew at the Big Bend Dam power plant brushed up on their confined space rescue operations. The training is part of the USACE Safety and Occupational Health Management System (CE-SOHMS) effort to make safety and health a core value within the organization. #CESOHMS

 

When the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, realized it needed to expand in order to continue serving as the final resting place for those who have honorably served this country, the Veterans Administration turned to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District to build the additional plots.

 

 

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Omaha District, Gavins Point Project at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center teamed up with SOAR (Saving Our Avian Resources) to host Bald Eagle Days, giving visitors the chance to see bald eagles perching in nearby trees. Also, there hands–on activities to participate in, along with watching programs with live raptors, including a Bald Eagle.
