  • Corps awards contract to complete levee repairs on the Missouri River L-536 levee system north of Corning, Missouri

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,  Omaha District, awarded a $8.74 million construction contract to AECOM Technical Services, Inc. of Los Angeles, California, Tuesday, to close the remaining breaches and making final repairs on the Missouri River L-536 levee system north of Corning, Missouri.  The L-536 system is the last remaining Missouri River levee damaged by the March 2019 flood event in need of full repair.
  • Corps issues contract to build COVID-19 Montana Alternate Care Facility

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has awarded a $2.6 million contract to build an Alternate Care Facility in Kalispell, Montana, to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Col. John Hudson, Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District issued a public service announcement Friday regarding the district's efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and levee repairs.
  • Army Corps of Engineers modifying operations at recreation areas due to Coronavirus

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it has begun the orderly shutdown of all USACE-managed campgrounds to protect against the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019. Visitor centers, beaches, special events, and USACE-sponsored events such as shore sweeps, interpretive programs, Kids to Parks Day, Earth Day events, public meetings and other public gatherings at all USACE-managed sites and facilities have also been closed and/or put on hold until further notice.

    An employee with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Omaha District and native of Chicago, was recognized for his accomplishments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Corps completes 100-bed alternate care facility in Kalispell, Montana

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, completed construction on an alternate care facility in Kalispell, Montana, May 24, two days earlier than required. The ACF also came in more than 10% under budget.
  • USACE helps Montana, FEMA prepare for COVID-19 future

    In the three and a half months since the first COVID-19 case was diagnosed in the U.S., the state of Montana has the second lowest number of total cases, and the lowest number of cases per capita of any state in the country. Those low numbers did not stop the state’s leaders and FEMA from enlisting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, to prepare for the future fight against the virus.
