The Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Nebraska Department of Roads’ proposed Nebraska Highway12 project is now available for public review.
The project, coordinated by the Nebraska Department of Roads seeks authorization to place fill in waters of the United States in connection with the proposed highway project. NDOR submitted a permit application on September 11, 2015 to place fill material east and west of the Village of Niobrara, Nebraska.

The States of South Dakota and Iowa have requested assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, to provide technical assistance near Sioux City, Iowa and North Sioux City, S.D. following recent heavy rainfall.

Warmer temperatures are leading to flooding in parts of Wyoming and Montana along the Bighorn River, Little Bighorn River, Pryor Creek and tributaries of the Yellowstone River.
In response to requests from the Crow Nation for sandbags, the State of Montana for ice jam technical assistance on the Mussellshell River, and from the State of Wyoming for technical assistance regarding an ice jam and flooding in north-central Wyoming along the Bighorn River, the Omaha District Readiness Branch has activated its Emergency Operations Center to Level II, Emergency Watch Status and is communicating directly with the National Weather Service for updated river stage forecasts.
