Scribner - Pebble Creek Restoration Information

Background: The Scribner – Pebble Creek Left Bank and Elkhorn River Right Bank Levee System was damaged during the 2019 Flood Event, leading to the Project Sponsor submitting a Public Law (PL) 84-99 Rehabilitation Assistance request to the US Army Corps of Engineers – Omaha District.

Current Action: The contractor is demobilizing from the project site.

Status Updates:

06 December 2019 - Work on the Scribner levee repair contract is complete. The team is currently working on closing out the contract.

22 November 2019 - Work on the Scribner levee repair contract is complete. The team is currently working on closing out the contract.

08 November 2019 - Work on the Scribner levee repair contract is complete including final inspection that occurred on 07 November. The contractor is currently demobilizing from the site.

24 October 2019 - The contractor is scheduled to mobilize to the project site on 24 October 2019 to begin repairs.

13 October 2019 - Pre-construction team meeting was held on Oct. 2, 2019 and the notice to proceed with repairs was issued to the contractor.  The contractor is now completing submittals and preparing to mobilize to the project site to begin the repair work.

27 September 2019 – The levee repair contract was awarded on 18 September 2019 to Pruss Excavation of Dodge, NE in the amount of $93,500. The period of performance is 60 calendar days.

13 September 2019 – The bid opening for the Scribner levee repair project was conducted on 10 Sep 2019, and it is anticipated that a construction contract will be awarded in the next few weeks.

04 September 2019 – Correction. The bid opening is on 10 September 2019, the contract award is anticipated by the end of September.

23 August 2019 – A construction contract to repair the Scribner levee system was advertised to pre-qualified contractors on 19 August 2019 with award anticipated around 10 September 2019. 

05 August 2019 – Engineering and Design (E&D) work continues for rehabilitating the Scribner levee system.  The team is still anticipating to be done with the E&D process by late summer.

16 July 2019 – An initial site damage assessment and economic analysis has been completed.  From this initial assessment the USACE team has determined that there are damages to the levee system that are eligible for PL 84-99 Rehabilitation Assistance. Engineering and Design (E&D) work is on-going for rehabilitating the Scribner levee system.  The team is anticipating to be done with the E&D process for repairing the damage identified by late-summer.
