18 December 2019 - R-613 levee system repairs are on-going.
06 December 2019 - R-613 levee system repairs are on-going. The overall contract has been extended to March 2020 to allow for relief well repairs/replacements.
22 November 2019 - Work on the R-613 system is on-going. The overall contract has been extended to March 2020 to allow for relief well repairs/replacements.
08 November 2019 - Work on the R-616 system is complete. Work on the R-613 system is expected to be complete by 22 November. A contract extension will be required to repair and replace damaged relief wells. This work will continue into early calendar year 2020.
24 October 2019 - Work on the R-616 system is substantially complete including final inspection conducted on 24 October 2019. Work on the R-613 system is expected to be complete by early November.
13 October 2019 - Work to repair critical section loss areas as well as the damage bike path began earlier this week. All work on the R-616 system is expected to be complete by mid-October 2019. Work on the R-613 system will be on-going until the November 2019 contract completion date.
27 September 2019 –All work on the R-616 system is expected to be complete by the end of September 2019. Work on the R-613 system will be on-going until the 05 November 2019 contract completion date.
13 September 2019 –All work on the R-616 system is expected to be complete by the end of September 2019. Work on the R-613 system is anticipated to be complete later this fall.
06 September 2019 – The Contractor has been working minor repairs on R-616 system but has begun full repair efforts this week after receiving the necessary approvals to begin excavation at the identified borrow site.
29 August 2019 – Material from the borrow site is being collected and transported to the project site to begin repairs of the R616-613/R613 levee system.
23 August 2019 – A pre-construction meeting was held with the contractor on 15 August 2019 and construction of repairs to the levee system started on 19 August 2019.
13 Aug 2019 – Contract to repair damages to the R-616-613 and R-613 levee systems was awarded on 7 August 2019 to IE-Weston Federal Services JVB LLC for $10.3M. The period of performance for the contract is 90 calendar days. Work is anticipated to start on 19 August 2019.
31 July 2019 – The proposals were received on 24 July 2019 and the construction contract award is anticipated within the next week.
22 July 2019 – The final statement of work went out for proposals on 18 July 2019.
09 July 2019 – The team conducted an initial pre-proposal site walk with construction contractors on 08 July 2019. Pending availability of funding from HQUSACE the project is anticipated to be awarded in late-July or early-August.
17 June 2019 – An initial site damage assessment and economic analysis has been completed. From this initial assessment the USACE team has determined that there are damages to the levee system that are eligible for PL 84-99 Rehabilitation Assistance. The USACE team is actively coordinating with the Levee Sponsor to ensure all repair efforts integrate with ongoing construction activities.
