The District Engineer is evaluating a permit application from Montana Dakota Utilities Company (MDU) for the Wishek Substation Rebuild Project near Wishek, North Dakota. MDU proposes to construct a new substation north of its existing facility. The project would consist of construction of a gravel pad roughly 570-feet by 750-feet, or approximately 9.8-acres in size and 0.20-mile of new gravel access road, ditches, and removal of fence lines and rock piles in the project area. Construction would result in 2.20 acres of wetlands filled. The project is located approximately 1.5-miles west of Wishek, north of North Dakota Highway 3 in Section 8, Township 132 North, Range 71 West at Latitude 46.262455° North, Longitude -99.594927° West, McIntosh County, North Dakota.
