The District Engineers is evaluating an application from the McKenzie County Road Department to complete a major upgrade of County Road 30. The completed road would consist of two 12-foot-wide driving lanes with 4-foot shoulders. To reduce impacts to wetlands and right-of-way 3:1 foreslopes are being proposed in some areas and ditch bottoms would be reduced from the standard 10-foot width to 8 feet, except at intersection transitions, which would be 4 feet. Approximately 5.5445 acres of wetlands would be permanently impacted. Mitigation through purchase of credits from an approved mitigation program is proposed. The project is located in adjacent and abutting wetlands along County Road 30, starting at Latitude 47.689084° North, Longitude -103.497624° West, and ending at Latitude 47.746785° North, Longitude -103.283156° West, McKenzie County, North Dakota.
