NWO-2021-01463-PIE

Department of Army, Omaha District, Corps of Engineers, South Dakota Regulatory Office
Published Aug. 17, 2022
Expiration date: 9/7/2022
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District (Corps), is evaluating a permit application submitted by the City of Yankton to repair damage to the Auld-Brokaw Trail and to install bank stabilization along Marne Creek to prevent future damage. This notice is to inform
interested parties of the proposed activity and to solicit comments. The applicant is proposing to permanently discharge fill material
into 0.33-acres of wetlands and 1.43-acres of Marne Creek in order to repair disaster-damaged infrastructure and reduce the potential for similar future damage in five reach locations adjacent to Marne Creek. Bank stabilization methods consist of bioengineering features,
stacked gabions, and/or reinforcement mats. Several reaches would also include the reconstruction of the damaged Auld-Brokaw Trail.
