USACE seeks public comment for draft integrated letter report and Programmatic Environmental Assessment for federal participation in operating watercraft inspection stations within the Upper Missouri River Basin
A draft integrated letter report and programmatic environmental assessment has been developed to determine the economic and environmental impacts of federal participation in state-managed watercraft inspection programs within the states of Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska to protect the Upper Missouri River Basin. Comments on the draft Programmatic EA will be accepted during the public review period from April 3-17, 2023.

Draft EA available for comment on the Ramberg to Mandan Pipeline system maintenance project at Lake Sakakawea, ND
OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking public comments as part of a draft environmental assessment for a proposal to perform maintenance activities to prevent scour on the existing Tesoro High Plains Pipeline Company, LLC, 12-inch Ramberg to Mandan pipeline system. This system runs underneath and on Federal lands including Lake Sakakawea in McKenzie and Williams counties in North Dakota.

Vegetation control to begin on Missouri River sandbars between Garrison Dam and Huff, North Dakota
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct vegetation management activities on sandbars in the Missouri River between Garrison Dam and Huff, North Dakota in September. The Bismarck-Mandan River reach, miles 1,325 to 1,310 will not be sprayed. This work is being done to keep the sandbars free of vegetation and usable by the endangered interior least tern and threatened piping plover for nesting.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct vegetation management activities on sandbars in the Missouri River between Yankton and Vermillion, South Dakota, the upper portion of Lewis and Clark Lake near Springfield, South Dakota and Niobrara, Nebraska, and as far upstream as Pickstown, South Dakota in September.

Corps seeks public comment on draft environmental assessment for Missouri River pipeline replacement project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comment on a draft environmental assessment for the proposed replacement of a section of liquid natural gas pipeline located beneath the Missouri River in Cass County, Nebraska, and a federal levee near Thurman, Iowa. This pipeline system is critical to supplying propane to Midwest markets during the winter, as well as to motor fuel production in the upper Midwest. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than July 26, 2020.

Draft EA for surplus water use at Lake Francis Case, SD available for public comment
A draft environmental assessment for a surplus water request at Lake Francis Case in South Dakota is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the use of surplus water and the environmental impacts of replacing aging infrastructure to allow an additional 3,358 acre-feet to be used for municipal purposes by the Randall Community Water District (RCWD). Comments must be received or postmarked by July 30, 2018.
