The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, in partnership with the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District, has initiated a Flood Risk Management study for the Offutt Ditch area in Bellevue, Nebraska, under Section 205 of the Flood Control Act of 1948, as amended. The study will evaluate measures to reduce flood risk for nearby homes, infrastructure, agricultural land, and critical facilities, including Offutt Air Force Base.
The public is invited to attend a Public Scoping Meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bellevue Fire Hall, 2108 Franklin Street, Bellevue, NE, 68005.
The meeting will include a brief presentation followed by an open house, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn about the study, ask questions, and share input with representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District.
