Additional public meeting seeking input for proposed Perkins County Canal Project to be held in Ogallala, Nebraska

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District Regulatory Division is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act for the proposed Perkins County Canal Project. The EIS will analyze the potential impacts of the proposed project on the human and natural environment. A copy of the Special Public Notice and Notice of Intent (February 20, 2026) is available on the project website.
An additional public meeting seeking public input for the proposed Perkins County Canal Project is scheduled for March 31, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the NACO West Training Center, 102 Diamond Springs Trail, Ogallala, NE 69153.
USACE invites federal and state agencies, Tribes, local governments and the public to submit comments on the proposed project by April 6, 2026. All comments should include the project name, Perkins County Canal, and permit application number NWO-2023-00518 in the subject line.
