YANKTON, S.D. --
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District is seeking public, agency, tribal, and stakeholder comments on the Draft Master Plan and Programmatic Environmental Assessment for Gavins Point Dam and Lewis and Clark Lake through Friday, April 8, 2022.
A Master Plan is the comprehensive land management document guiding USACE responsibilities pursuant to federal laws, regulations, and policies to preserve, conserve, restore, maintain, manage, and develop the project’s lands, waters, and associated resources. It includes a description of the project resources, a discussion of factors influencing resource management and development, and a strategy for managing project resources to meet environmental stewardship requirements and the needs of present and future generations.
Please note that a Master Plan is separate from the Master Manual – which guides water management and water releases on the Missouri River. Water management, storage and releases are not determined by or addressed in a Master Plan.
The public, stakeholders, tribes, federal, state, and local agencies are invited to attend an online public meeting. Due to COVID-19 all meetings will be hosted online as follows:
