Ted H. Streckfuss is the Omaha District Deputy District Engineer, and the Chief of Planning, Programs and Project Management Division for the Omaha District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Streckfuss is married to Diana, with three grown sons, Lucas, Nathanael, and Benjamin. Mr. Streckfuss was born and raised in the Webster/Aberdeen area of northeast South Dakota. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from South Dakota State University in 1984; and a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1991. He holds professional engineering registration as both a civil engineer (1989) and as an environmental engineer (1993), and is registered as a Project Management Professional (2009).

He has been with the Corps of Engineers in Omaha for more than 35 years. Originally coming on board as an environmental process design engineer, he has served in many other roles during his tenure with the Omaha District, including Workload Manager for Design Branch, Engineering Division, and Deputy Chief, Engineering Division.  He has been in his current role of Deputy District Engineer for nearly 12 years.

Mr. Streckfuss is directly responsible for the execution of all program and project management functions within the District, typically in excess of $1.6B annually. His responsibilities include support to 26 Army and Air Force installations in an eight-state area, water resources development in ten states of the Upper Missouri River Basin, and Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste cleanup work for the Department of Defense and other clients that cover 41 States and 147 installations. The Omaha District is the most expansive CONUS district within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with its boundaries covering more than 770,000 square miles and mission responsibilities supporting the DoD worldwide.
