Vision and Mission
Vision:
To be the lead district in execution, innovation, and disciplined action for USACE, working in concert within the region and across the Corps, to deliver to this nation premier engineering services by a well organized, professional and highly trained workforce able to provide support any time, any place.
Mission:
The Omaha District serves the Armed Forces and the Nation in support of civil, military, and environmental missions. Our three-quarters century history of distinguished service is marked by engineering excellence, outstanding technical support, and multi-disciplinary services. We deliver quality, timely products and services at a reasonable cost.
The Omaha District is responsible for the execution of three major missions:
- Federal civil works activities including administration of the Clean Water Act Section 404 regulatory program in the upper Missouri River basin.
- Engineering design and construction for the Army and Air Force in eight Mountain and Upper Midwest states.
- Hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste cleanup: Restoring the environment for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Defense (DOD) at sites throughout the United States.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Vision
A GREAT engineering force of highly disciplined people working with our partners through disciplined thought and action to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to the Nation’s engineering challenges.
It is the Commander’s intent for the Corps to be ONE DISCIPLINED TEAM – in thought, word, and action – and to meet our commitments, with and through our partners, by “SAYING WHAT WE WILL DO, AND DOING WHAT WE SAY.” Greatness is defined by an organization that accomplishes the following in all mission areas:
- Delivers superior performance;
- Sets the standard for our profession;
- Makes a positive impact on the Nation and other nations;
- Is built to last as evidenced by our strong “bench” at all levels—educated, trained, competent, experienced and certified.
