A message from the Chief:

Welcome to the Omaha District Hydrologic Engineering Branch website.  The Hydrologic Engineering Branch provides water resource engineering expertise both within the District's boundaries and worldwide.  The Hydrologic Engineering Branch is part of the Omaha District’s Engineering Division, and is organized into five sections: Sedimentation and Channel Stabilization, Flood Risk and Floodplain Management, Hydraulics, Hydrology, and Water Control and Water Quality.  Combined, these sections provide the Branch with expertise in a wide-range of water resource related fields such as watershed modeling, floodplain management, hydraulic structure design, erosion control, water management, and statistical analysis - to name a few.  Furthermore, the Branch assists the District during times of flood emergencies in a variety of ways – including providing critical onsite evaluations and flood forecast information.
