Contracting

Our mission is to provide the highest quality contracting services for the Omaha District and its customers.

The Omaha District Contracting Division provides policy and procedures to all elements of the district relating to the acquisition process. We are the leaders of advance acquisition planning, strategy, and innovative approaches in providing customers with a quality product. With a professional staff of contracting officers, contract specialists, procurement technicians, and administrative support, requests for services, supplies, and construction are solicited and awarded.

The Omaha District can provide a range of contract support to its customers. Our large contracting capability can be tailored to fit specific needs in a timely manner. We can contract for supplies, services, construction, architect-engineering, and hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste (HTRW) remediation.

Customer's needs, best value, maximum competition, compliance with applicable regulations and support of small business/socioeconomic programs are key in our endeavors to support the district's mission.

This effort has been successful and as a result, our district staff continues to maintain a high level of professional and technical expertise.

Contracting staff provides oversight for acquisition functions that are performed by other elements of the district. This includes assignment of Administrative Contracting Officers and Contracting Officer Representatives.

Contracting is responsible for the Government Purchase Card program (micro purchases under $2500) training, delegation and oversight of VISA cardholders.

Most importantly, we are staffed with highly-qualified professionals who are motivated and innovative.

Omaha Small Business Office

Are you interested in contracting with us?

Companies interested in participating in contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers either as a prime contractor or subcontractor should monitor FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov. Companies should ensure they have an active registration in the Central Contractor Registration at www.ccr.gov before bidding as the prime contractor. To facilitate local small business contractors receiving maximum opportunity, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will attempt to notify local small business contractors by e-mail when opportunities exist in their area. Interested contractors may call to be added to the list. If you were receiving e-mail notifications of contract opportunities during the 2011 flood season, you are already on our interested contractor list.

Not every contract will be available for full and open competition as a prime contractor. In some cases, contracts may be set-aside for geographic areas or for socio-economic classifications. In some cases, pre-selected indefinite delivery contracts may be used. However, subcontracting opportunities may still exist.  Questions about subcontracting opportunities on specific projects may be directed to the contracting office.
