Expiration date: 12/21/2017

In response to a need to construct BMP detention ponds within the northeast side of Sioux Falls, South Dakota in order to help regulate water quantity and quality within the area, the City of Sioux Falls requests authorization to construct the Regional BMP 25-1 West Pond just north of Madison Street and to the east and west of the newly-constructed Veteran’s Parkway (Highway 100). The project will involve excavating two storm water detention ponds on each side of Veteran’s Parkway, constructing/grading side slopes to a 4:1 slope, constructing a forebay on the west side of Veteran’s Parkway, constructing a concrete weir to regulate the 100-year flow, and constructing a maintenance road along the boundary of the BMP ponds. The project will impact 0.66 acres of wetlands. The purpose of the proposed project is to keep peak flow rates comparable to existing condition peak flow rates and provide storm water treatment as development continues within the area.
