Lake Yankton facilities closed due to fisheries renovation

YANKTON, S.D. – Some facilities around Lake Yankton will be closed as part of the Lake Yankton Fisheries Renovation. Cottonwood Day Use area will be closed from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9th through 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10th.

In addition, the Training Dike Boat Ramp on Lake Yankton will be closed from 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9th through 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10th.

There will be additional restrictions in place on Sept. 10th from 5:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. around Lake Yankton. Swimming or wading in the water or walking on the natural shoreline prior to the drawdown will be prohibited. Vessels of any kind, including but not limited to, boats, canoes, kayaks, personal water craft, tubes, or any other floating structures will be prohibited.

All restrictions will be lifted at 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 10th.
