  • Corps seeks public comment on draft environmental assessment for Missouri River pipeline replacement project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comment on a draft environmental assessment for the proposed replacement of a section of liquid natural gas pipeline located beneath the Missouri River in Cass County, Nebraska, and a federal levee near Thurman, Iowa. This pipeline system is critical to supplying propane to Midwest markets during the winter, as well as to motor fuel production in the upper Midwest. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than July 26, 2020.
  • No through traffic on Crest Road Wednesday

    The spillway and powerplant roadway at Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota, will be closed Wedensday from 8 a.m. to noon for maintenance. This will prohibit through traffic on the road that crosses Gavins Point Dam, also known as the Crest Road.
  • Release changes set for Jamestown, Pipestem reservoirs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is increasing the reservoir releases today from Pipestem Dam, North Dakota, while reducing releases from Jamestown Dam.
  • Releases increased from Pipestem Reservoir

    Reservoir releases are being increased today from Pipestem Dam, North Dakota, to begin evacuating storage in the flood control pool. Releases are being reduced from nearby Jamestown Dam as it nears its target elevation of 1431.0 feet, the base of the exclusive flood control pool.
  • USACE operated campgrounds at Garrison project now open

    Campgrounds operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Garrison Project are open as of today after being closed to protect against the further spread of the COVID-19.
  • Oahe campgrounds opening Monday

    Campgrounds operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Oahe, South Dakota, project will open Monday. This will include the Beaver Creek and Hazelton Campgrounds in North Dakota.
  • Corps of Engineers expands reservations at Fort Peck Downstream and West End Campgrounds

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will open the Downstream Campground and West End Tent and Trailer Campground at the Fort Peck, Montana project for camping Monday. Both campgrounds are moving to a full reservation system to streamline site occupancy and payments for visitors and staff. The cash-less process will help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
  • Gavins Point USACE campgrounds opening Monday

    Campgrounds operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Gavins Point Project will open Monday. This will include Cottonwood and Nebraska Tailwaters campgrounds.
  • Glenn Cunningham Reservoir to begin to fill naturally

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will shut the outflow gate at Glenn Cunningham Reservoir on June 1, to allow the lake to begin to refill naturally. It is anticipated that with typical weather conditions the lake will reach full conservation pool by early spring 2021.

    The Santee boat ramp, near Santee, Nebraska, will reopen Friday.
