  • Crest road closed for spillway repair

    Crest road will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, June 26. Plan an alternate route.
  • Partial road closure will have limited impact on traffic.

    Maintenance on the street lights across Gavins Point Dam, near Yankton, SD, will cause part of the Crest Road to be closed, but will only have limited impact on traffic. The road will be closed from Monday, June 19 at 8 a.m. through Wednesday, June 21 at 4 p.m. This closure will include overnight hours.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed May 31 – June 1

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 through 5 p.m. Thursday, June 1 to perform maintenance on the spillway. This closure will include nighttime hours. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Road across Gavins Point Dam closed May 22-25

    Crest Road, the road that crosses the Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, S.D., will be closed 8 a.m. Monday, May 22 through 5 p.m. Thursday, May 25 to perform maintenance on the spillway. This closure will include nighttime hours. The public is asked to plan on an alternate route of travel during this time.
  • Boaters at Gavins Point Project reminded of Nebraska Non-Resident AIS Stamp Requirement

    Non-resident boaters that launch vessels in Nebraska waters below Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, SD are reminded they will need a Nebraska Aquatic Invasive Species Stamp before entering the water.
  • Duck blinds must be removed by May 1, 2017

    Duck blinds permitted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Lewis and Clark Lake near Yankton, SD must be removed by May 1, 2017
  • Lewis and Clark Visitor Center will be closed the morning of Thursday, March 30.

    The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, SD will be closed on Thursday, March 30 from 8 a.m. through 11 a.m.
  • Water releases from Fort Randall and Gavins Point Dams

    Water releases from Fort Randall Dam at Pickstown, South Dakota and Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, South Dakota are being increased this week in support of the 2017 navigation season downstream. At Gavins Point, releases will be increased 3,000 cfs per day until they reach navigation support levels, which are estimated at 25,000 to 28,000 cfs this spring. Fort Randall’s releases will be used to back up the Gavins Point releases and are typically 2,000 to 3,000 cfs lower than Gavins Point.
  • Raptor programs still on, but eagle a no show for Bald Eagle Days.

    For the second year there will be no eagle at Bald Eagle Days at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, SD. Programs scheduled for Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 19 will go on with other birds of prey.
  • Bald Eagle Days rescheduled for February 17-19

    Bald Eagle Days, a free public event sponsored by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Yankton, SD, has been rescheduled to Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 19.
