USACE operated campgrounds at Garrison project now open
Campgrounds operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Garrison Project are open as of today after being closed to protect against the further spread of the COVID-19.

USACE operated campgrounds on Lake Sakakawea to remain closed until at least June 1
The Corps of Engineers operated campgrounds including the Downstream, East Totten Trail and Wolf Creek campgrounds in North Dakota will remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the earliest possible opening date being June 1.

Ice fishing access sites begin to close down
Several ice fishing access sites at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Omaha District, Garrison Project, are closed for the season.

Corps closes visitor centers, suspends tours
Due to health and safety precautions regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus), all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Omaha District Visitor Centers will be closed and all public group tours and events and have been cancelled until further notice.

Garrison Dam releases to be reduced
Garrison Dam releases are scheduled to be reduced in 1,000-cubic feet per second increments from its current release of 13,000 cfs to 10,000 cfs by April 9.

New Ice Fishing Access Map Available for Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Omaha District, Garrison Project launched a new mapping platform available for the visiting public to make it easier to locate ice fishing access points on Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon.

2019 Online Reservations Now Available for Downstream, East Totten Trail, and Wolf Creek Campgrounds on Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon
Reservations are now open for campsites on Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon for the 2019 recreation camping season as they can be made six months in advanced.

Garrison (N.D.) Project sets winter access policy
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Garrison Project announced this week their 2018-2019 winter access policy. This year there will be 116 areas/points of entry to Lake Sakakawea and 21 areas/points of entry to Lake Audubon.

East Totten Trail Temporary Ramp Closure
East Totten Trail Temporary Ramp Closure at Lake Audubon to notify the public. The ramp will be closed starting June 18th for a two week time frame and will have impacts to those wanting to boat/fish in the area.

Garrison Dam releases increased
In order to meet the 44,000 cfs release, the Garrison Project initiated releases of 3,000 cfs through its regulating tunnels. This release supplements the 41,000 cfs release through the power plant for a combined release of 44,000 cfs.
