OMAHA, Neb. - As part of a Water Safety Partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Park Rangers from Tri-Lakes Project near Denver, Colo., and Missouri River Project near Council Bluffs, Iowa, will be hosting “Wear it Right” and “Safe Passage” seminars.

These free Summer Kickoff seminars and activities will be held May 18, 19, 26 and 27 as a part of Bass Pro Shops Annual Go Outdoors event.

National Safe Boating Week is May 18-24.

The “Wear it Right” seminar will teach participants five important steps for choosing and fitting a life jacket. Participants pledge to ensure to "play it safe" when on or around the water during National Safe Boating Week and throughout the year.

The “Safe Passage” seminar teachers children and families to "play it safe" and help children understand to never go in or around the water unless an adult is watching.
