Access limited to Fort Peck spillway

Published Jan. 18, 2020

FORT PECK, Mont. -- The Fort Peck Montana, spillway can be accessed by boat from the Missouri River or by foot from the west side of the spillway (Missouri River upstream side). Due to erosion of CMR Road #361, the US Army Corps of Engineers has designated a parking area where the public can then walk into the spillway from the west.  This parking area is near the junction of CMR road #361 and #528.  Motorized vehicles are not permitted beyond or around the barricade. Motorized use is only allowed on open, numbered and established roads. Two-track pioneered or cross-country routes branching off an established road are not considered legal access routes. The Corps intends to repair CMR Road #361 when funding and conditions allow.

Corps lands on the east side (Missouri River downstream side) of the spillway are closed to all public access, including walk-in use.
