  • Public scoping meeting scheduled for Intake Diversion Dam fish passage project in Montana

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation will hold a public meeting on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Dawson County High School Auditorium, 900 N. Merrill Avenue, Glendive, Mont. to gather input on the development of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Intake Diversion Dam fish passage project. Comments must be postmarked or received by February 18, 2016.
  • Technical assistance training available to the public for Atlas D Missile Site 4

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, will conduct four training sessions through the Technical Assistance for Public Participation program for the public and Restoration Advisory Board regarding Atlas D Missile Site 4.
  • Public comment sought on proposed stormwater drainage channel improvements at Schriever AFB in El Paso Co., CO

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Omaha District, on behalf of the U.S. Air Force, has prepared a draft environmental assessment to evaluate environmental impacts of a proposed project to improve two stormwater drainage channels and their associated culverts on the southern perimeter of Schriever Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, Colo. Comments must be postmarked or received no later than February 3, 2016.
  • Gate well system repairs mean US 83 lane restrictions in ND

    Damages to the gate well system that moves water between Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon through the Snake Creek embankment along US Highway 83 have caused lane restrictions that will continue into early January.
  • Lake Oahe's Halzelton Recreation area added to Recreation.gov

    Hazelton Recreation Area located south of Bismarck, North Dakota, on Lake Oahe has been added to the National Recreation Reservation Service website for advanced reservations. Reservations can be made at recreation.gov or their Toll-Free number 1-877-444-6777 up to 6 months in advance to as little as 2 days in advance through September 5. For the Hazleton Recreation area, the first date campsites are available for reservations is May 26, 2016. Walk-up, first come, first camp reservations are available May 1-May 25 and September 6-September 30.
  • Garrison Project ice access policy released

    The 2015-2016 winter access policy for Lake Sakakawea identifies 55 points of entry and provides reminders for safe practices when ice fishing.
  • Training Dike boat ramp closed

    The Training Dike boat ramp, on the north side of the Missouri River just below Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, SD, is closed until further notice due to low water conditions.
  • Public comment sought on proposed crude oil pipeline project in North Dakota

    An environmental assessment has been prepared to evaluate potential environmental impacts from construction and operation of a crude oil pipeline across private lands encumbered by federal flowage easements and federal land managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Comments must be postmarked or received by January 8, 2016.
  • Contract awarded for repairs to backwater site at Ponca State Park

    A contract for $1.75 million was awarded to Western Contracting Corporation of Sioux City, Iowa for repairs to a backwater site located within the Ponca State Park boundaries in Dixon County, Neb. Repairs are needed to restore the intended habitat function of the site and prevent it from degrading further.
  • Draft environmental assessment for construction of crude oil pipeline in Williams and McKenzie counties, including under Lake Sakakawea, N.D., available for public comment

    A draft environmental assessment for a proposal to construct a crude oil pipeline, of which 2.8 miles would be below Lake Sakakawea on Garrison Project lands managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is currently available for review. For planning purposes, comments must be postmarked or received no later than December 20, 2015.
